No matter how many times I try to convince my tween that the school lunch isn’t so bad she doesn’t believe me. “Yuck Mom! they serve cold french fries!” How can I argue with that ? If your tot is like mine then you have a whole year of school lunches to look forward to. Here are some ways to get creative.
Brain Snacks for Kids
Your tot needs fuel for that little noggin so make sure you are doing your part. Blueberries, Carrots, Spinach, Nuts ( if they aren’t allergic) are all good healthy brain food to include as much as possible in their diet.
Veggie Crisps and other vegetable based chips are a good way to fit in another serving of veggies into the day.
Water water water
Save yourself some money this year and forget the juice boxes. they are high in calories and sugar. Try a water bottle with a slice of orange, lemon, or lime instead.
Lunchbox Love Letters
I try to leave notes in my daughters lunch box as much as possible. It lets her know I am thinking about her during the day. Stickers or a little toy are also a cute way of saying hello.
