Discovery Saturdays

January 23, February 20, March 20, 2010 from 11:00 a.m.
to Noon

Once a month the Veolker
Orth Museum
in Jamaica hosts a storybook and discovery activity for young
children(6 and under). Elizabeth Orth, who established the museum, was a
teacher and had a special interest in collecting children’s books, appreciating
the worlds they could open.

Suggested contribution of $1 for children.

Mother Goose Story
Times at the Jamaica Library

On Wednesdays at 10:15am this program features nursery
rhymes, finger plays centered around this classic kids book. For babies 18
months to 2 1/2 years accompanied by their caregiver. A one time
preregistration is required so call the Library for more information.

The Queens Library has a “Queens Library Welcome Baby Kit
that includes an adorable set of books and information on how to include
reading with your baby. Ask your local branch if they have one for your baby.
