There is nothing I like more than a free outdoor concert.
Bringing a picnic blanket, some food, friends, and kids to run around while I
have a small moment of feeling cultured and civilized. It is all that a mom can
ask. This summer, Queens has a great line up of free concerts happening all
over the borough. Starting on June 30th with the Astoria Waterfront Independence
Celebration where you can see Big Band music and fireworks and the New York
Philharmonic is also playing in Cunningham Park later in July. Read on for all of

Held every summer in the museum's Japanese-styled garden,
these free concerts feature up-and-coming traditional jazz bands that play and
promote the music of Louis Armstrong.

Fourth of July Birthday Party

Free garden jazz concert at 1pm. Museum opens for tours
noon to 5pm. In celebration of Louis
Armstrong’s traditional birthday (July 4th, 1900), families can join the
birthday celebration with a free jazz concert in the museum garden, take a
