Drop in Workshops at the Queens Museum of Art allows children and their adult companions time in the museum’s studios to explore materials and themes found in their current exhibitions. The best part about these workshops are that they are free with museum admission.
Art for Families at the Noguchi Museum includes interactive conversations in the Museum’s galleries and hands-on art making. This program is for families with children ages 5-11. Space is limited. Kids College Program at Queensborough College has a wide array of programs for kids ages K-12. From toddler art classes, intro to fashion design, swimming, sports, and tutoring. The classes are not only affordable but there is an easy online registration as well.
Architots Young at Art Program – Middle Village studio offers classes once a week for children years 5+ catered towards painting, sketching, mixed media collage making, and basic sculpting.
The Potter’s Wheel holds seasonal pottery classes for children.
Michael’s Craft Store has locations all over Queens. They consistently hold free crafting classes for kids.
