Pre-Mother’s Day Crafts for Kids

Take some time out to spend the afternoon with your kids. Fort Totten is hosting a Pre-Mother’s Day Crafts session on Saturday, May 7th at 1:00pm. Your kids can make you a special present, and you get to spend some quality time with the reason(s) you’re a mom in the first place. And the best part? It’s free.

Mother’s Day Wildflower Walk

Celebrate the beauty of moms everywhere while walking through the wildflowers at Alley Pond Park. They are having a wildflower walk that starts at 10:00am on Mother’s Day, May 8th. Take a leisurely stroll with the ones you love, taking in the scenery. Admission here is also free.

Mother’s Day Brunch Cruise

Take to the high seas with mom this Mother’s Day… ok, not really the high seas. Skyline Cruises is offering a Brunch Cruise that is four hours long, with a buffet and DJ, and tours New York Harbor. Feast your eyes on the skyline and the Statue of Liberty, while enjoying good food and entertainment. You can even choose to skip the food altogether and just take in the sights. Tickets range in price from $45 to $82. The Brunch Cruise begins boarding at 10:30am and the boat sets sail at 11:00am.  Wear your Sunday best, as sneakers and jeans are not allowed.

Lounge 47 Brunch

If you like eating your food on dry land, give the brunch at Lounge 47 in Long Island City a try. Saturday brunch hours are 11:00am – 4:00pm, and Sunday brunch hours are 12:00pm – 4:00pm. Their Prix Fixe menu is only $13. The best part about this laid back locale is their garden. Just sit out and relax while eating some delicious food.
