Summer Day Camps for Toddlers and Preschoolers

While there are loads of summer camp options for older kids, keeping toddlers busy during the summer months can take a bit more creativity. Luckily, there are some great mini-programs and classes around the borough dedicated to keeping kids active and engaged throughout the summer months.

Moon Soup

Moon Soup offers a variety of fun and creative classes from Tuesday through Sunday for the entire summer. With everything from a partial separation/intro to preschool class to a messy art and music class catering to a variety ages, Moon Soup has something for everyone. Bakers and Shakers

Think your three year old could never crack an egg — think again! Bakers and Shakers teaches toddlers the fun fundamentals of cooking while introducing them to a variety of new, healthful foods. The hands-on experience allows kids to become actively involved in preparation, enjoy a great meal, and work it off after with some high energy dancing. Summer classes and camps are held throughout the week and on weekends at Flushing Meadows Park, The Forest Hills Jewish Center and the Central Queens Y. Outside of the regular gym, Gymboree offers some great classes to keep kids busy and inspired during the summer months. Music, art, sports and classes in school skills are available at almost every age level and every day of the week. Thinkertots offers two great toddler camp programs to keep kids socializing and learning through July and August. This eight week programs offers a Todder Smart Camp aimed at children ages 12-24 months and focuses on singing, story time and offers an overall play and learn environment. The Super Smart Camp for children ages 2-4 years old offers arts & crafts, story and snack time. There is no shortage of creative based play at the Summer at Architots program. With the Tiny Tot Time, for children ages 0-18 months, kids will engage in a variety of activities to stimulate the senses and enjoy basic movement and open play time.  Tot Time summer programs, for children ages 18 months – 3 years, teach kids the fundamentals of the alphabet, how to clean up, and engages them interactive story time. Long Island City Kids

Long Island City Kids offers a great summer class schedule for children ages 6 months – 3 years. Open 7 days a week, parents of little ones can choose from activities including gymnastics; music, art & story time; or music and movement.
