Free Golf Lessons for Queens Kids

This summer, at four locations throughout Queens, the City Parks Foundation, an independent, nonprofit organization offering park programs throughout the five boroughs of New York City, presents CityParks Golf. Since 2000, the CityParks Golf program has provided free instruction to over 12,000 children. CityParks Golf introduces the basics of driving, pitching, and putting.

This complimentary program, held in public parks and on golf courses, aims to make golfing accessible to all and is a fantastic opportunity for both boys and girls ages 6–16 to learn to play the game. Free use of equipment is available at all sessions. What better way to get your kids working on that hole-in-one without putting a hole in your pocket!

Two 8-lesson sessions for beginners are offered this summer.

SESSION I: July 5 – July 29, 2011
SESSION II: August 1 – August 26, 2011

Lessons for ages 6–8 are held for 1 hour twice a week and are limited to 18 participants. Lessons for ages 9–16 are held for 1 1/2 hours twice a week and are limited to 30 participants.
On the last day of the program, beginners who demonstrate safety rules and basic skills are offered the chance to play at a nearby golf course.
