Queens Parks Guide: Juniper Valley Park

If there is one park that is truly the center of a community, it is Juniper Valley Park in Middle Village. With just over 55 acres, there is a lot of ground to cover in one visit with your family.

From the baseball fields, tennis courts, football fields, basketball courts, even a bocce court, any sports fanatic will be satisfied at this park. And it doesn’t stop there. Soccer fields, handball courts, and running tracks are there too. It’s also very pet friendly, and many of the neighborhood residents bring their pets for a walk in the park.

The park also boasts two large playgrounds, one located near 80th Street on Juniper Blvd. South called Juniper North Playground, and the other closer to 75th Street, again on Juniper Blvd. South, called Juniper South Playground. The South playground was recently renovated, with new equipment brought in.

In the summer months, the Juniper Civic Association hosts a number of family friendly events, like their summer movies on the big lawn in June.

You can pack a picnic, fly a kite, play catch, even lay out on a blanket and just relax. Once you visit Juniper Valley Park, you’ll be sure to go back again.
