Now that your teens are back in school, they may have to do internships in addition to their regular courses. The Noguchi Museum in Long Island City is currently offering twelve high school students the opportunity to become part of the museums Teen Advisory Board (TAB).
In addition to learning all about what goes into making a museum run, selected teens will be responsible for programming the various youth activities and events at the museum and serving as advisers for to the museum on all things youth oriented.
In addition to these responsibilities, teens will also receive instruction in art administration and may be eligible to receive school credit for their service.
Applications are due no later then September 30 and can be downloaded at TAB Application. Questions teens will need to answer when completing their application include: Why they want to be part of the Teen Advisory Board and what do they hope to gain from the experience; be able to describe what role art plays in their life and describe what a community means to them.
Additionally, teens will need to submit a strong letter of recommendation from a teacher or mentor.
