Halloween Party Fun
The Volker Orth Museum and garden will be invaded by creatures and ghosts. Participate in garden games and more for only $2. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Catapults Throwing Pumpkins- Flushing Meadows Park
For your science buff, celebrate Halloween by catapulting pumpkins hundreds of feet in the air. It’s free with admission. More info here.

Queens Crossing Halloween – Flushing
Queens Crossing Mall in Flushing is having a festival that will include a costume contest and a parade from Queens Crossing to Flushing Queens Library. Please visit Info Center to pay $10 registration fee on the event day or in advance. There will be face painting and treat bags as well.

Children’s Fall Festival & Haunted House – Queens Farm
Kids can enjoy traditional activities such as sack races, pony rides, and a petting zoo. Admission is $5 per person, although there may be additional costs for certain activities. While you’re there, scare up some fun at the Halloween Haunted House which runs on October 29, 30, and 31. The house is recommended for kids from 4 to 12 and costs $4 per person.

Boo at the Zoo & Family Halloween Party – Flushing Meadows Park
Enjoy watching the animals get their trick or treats. Your little beast can also pick a pumpkin, get his face painted, and have close encounters of the animal kind! Costumed kids under 12 get free admission. Arrive early, zoo events are always well attended! On Halloween Day from 3 to 4, the zoo will be hosting a Family Halloween Party. Kids can trick or treat around the zoo, make crafts, her stories, and meet the animals. This event is $10 for parents and $3 for little ones. Pre-registration is required. Check out both events here.

Free Canine Costume Carnival- Rockaway

Highland Park Fall Harvest Festival and Pirate Day – Jamaica
Enjoy a day of family fun with a horse and carriage ride, crafts, games, a pumpkin patch, treasure hunt a pirate show and pirate music. There will also be a surprise visit from Captain Jack! Come dressed as your favorite pirate or in your favorite costume.

Howl-0-ween Parade & Dog Costume Contest – Long Island City
Breadbox Cafe will be serving Hot Cider and treats to keep you warm and there will be gift bags too. Once the parade gets underway the judges will be standing at attention keeping score of the scores of pups! So put your best dog costume on, and remember you get extra points for dressing up to match your dog.

Halloween Festival & Carved Pumpkin Contest – Kew Gardens
From 2:00pm to 3:30pm, the program will be launched with The Strange and Unusual with a Touch of the Paranormal Walking Tour, which includes some true tales that should only be told at Halloween (tour is not for those under 12 years of age!). For those who would like to participate in the Carved Pumpkin Contest, please bring along your pre-carved pumpkin with a candle inside. Pumpkin drop off is between 2:00pm-5:00pm and viewing from 5:00pm-6:00pm, almost sundown at the cemetery. Donation: $5, Friends of Maple Grove Members and children under 12 years FREE. The Bayside Bid is sponsoring a contest with a challenge to all the storefront merchants along Bell Blvd to see who can offer the most creative and favorite Halloween window display. The contest will give local residents, shoppers and spectators the opportunity to vote for their favorite Halloween Window Display. Go check out the contestants.

Celebrate Day of the Dead, Halloween, and All Saints Day with hands-on festive fun for the whole family! Be sure to wear your costume and join us for an afternoon of spooky songs, dances and crafts. Create Mexican sugar skulls or Peruvian clay animals and place them in our Day of the Dead altar or take them home with you!

Fright Flight-Halloween Zip line Program – Douglaston

Celebrate Day of the Dead for Free – Jackson Heights
Visit the library for a workshop on how to create alters. Alters are prepared as part of the unique way in which Mexicans celebrate the Day of the Dead in order to honor deceased loved ones. In this workshop, kids will create whimsical box alters using paper skeletons and other colorful decorations.
