New York Rangers Host Free Hockey Clinics in Queens

The NYC Parks Department is teaming up with the New York Rangers this winter to offer free street hockey clinics for kids ages 7 – 15 throughout the five boroughs. The clinics will provide instruction on how to play street hockey and tips on the importance of exercising and eating a balanced diet.

The weekly scheduled clinics will educate and inspire hundreds of kids throughout the New York City region and engage them in a healthy, active lifestyle this winter. All equipment is provided and no prior experience is necessary to participate.

The program will run from December 6, 2011 – February 25, 2012. The participating locations, dates, and times in Queens are:

Al Oerter Recreation Center
131-40 Fowler Avenue
Fridays, 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Sorrentino Recreation Center
1848 Cornaga Avenue
Tuesdays, 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Lost Battalion Hall Recreation Center
92-29 Queens Boulevard
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

A recreation center membership is not required to register, however, all children will receive a free Parks Recreation Center Membership card. If your child does not have a membership, please bring a copy of your child’s birth certificate on the first day of the program.
