Lights of the Season: Menorah & Christmas Tree Lightings in Queens

It’s time to switch on your holiday spirit! If you’re already in the spirit, keep it going by celebrating with your neighbors. The holiday season is near. There’s still time to celebrate in a communal way, so attend one of these local events.

Friends of Richmond Hill Library Tree Lighting

Join other community members on the lawn of Richmond Hill Library along Hillside Avenue. Children will present holiday arts and crafts and help to decorate the Christmas tree.

Forest Hills Community Menorah Lighting

On December 21 from 6PM to 7PM, the Reform Temple of Forest Hills will dedicate its menorah and light the first candle.

Rego Park Chanukah Public Menorah Lighting

The Chabad of Rego Park will again be hosting the lighting of a Giant 16-foot Menorah at the corner of Queens Boulevard and 67th Road, starting on Tuesday, December 20 at 5:30PM. There will be hot Latkes and refreshments as well as music.

Annual Chanukah Party

Join the Astoria Center of Israel at their annual shindig. There will be dreidl games, a play and, of course, tons of snacks. Bring your own menorah for communal candle lighting.

Chanukah Wonderland and Menorah Lighting

Spend the afternoon celebrating with Chabad Lubavitch of Northeast Queens. First, get crafty with amazing holiday crafts. Then hear Chanukah stories and participate in other activities. Then watch as they light a giant menorah. End your day with a movie and a raffle. Throughout the day, partake in traditional snacks.
