The Queens Economic Development Corp. is offering a series of workshops designed to help women business owners get certified, and a second set of workshops to help them expand and improve their existing businesses. If you recently started your own business, these workshops will point you in the right direction towards success.
The first series, Minority and Women Owner Certification, will help you register with New York City and New York State as a minority- or woman-owned business. There are a lot of advantages and breaks associated with this, and they will be discussed during these workshops. These workshops are open to those who have been in business for at least a year. This session of workshops is free.
Each workshop will take place from 10am – 12pm for three sessions. The schedule is:

The second set of workshops are called Financial Projections Boot Camp 101. Here, you’ll deal with the theoretical principles of financial projections, and you’ll learn about best business practices and common pitfalls. Plus, you’ll develop and work on your own business projections. There is a $75 fee for Boot Camp 101, which will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on three Wednesdays in February.
