Beginning February 24, a new six week art workshop will make its debut at The New York Irish Center in Long Island City. Opened to ages 18 months- 4 years, kids will immerse themselves in unique and engaging arts and crafts projects — designed to inspire the imagination!
Created any run by NYC based artist Amanda Valdez, week-to-week and project-to-project Amanda strives to introduce children to small but foundational concepts in art making. Each class will begin by shaking off the winter blues and getting kids moving with some fun, high-energy dancing to loosen up, encourage self-expression and get those creative juices flowing.
Each week kids will explore a new activity including making and decorating musical instruments, making paper bags masks, bookmaking and scarf and t-shirt making.
While the program encourages as much independence as possible, parents and caregivers should be prepared to help smaller children throughout the class.
Classes will be held every Friday from 10:30 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. for six weeks. The total for the six week program is $140.00. Drops is are also welcomed at $25.00 per class.
