BeFIT NYC Free First Mondays
The first Monday of each month (second Monday in July and September), recreation centers open their doors and welcome you with a day of free fitness programs and activities. You can swim, bike, step, jog, lift, volley, and more! Remember to bring a photo ID and a lock if you want to work out. The Flushing Meadows Corona Park Aquatic Center is not included in this promotion. Some classes are available for a small fee. Modell’s Spring Sports Clinics
Modell’s is partnering with the Parks Department to host free sports clinics for kids ages 8-17 around the five boroughs. All of the necessary equipment will be provided. All clinics are from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. On-site registration at each site will begin at 9:00 a.m. To find a clinic near you, click here.
Group Trail Ride with Peak Bicycle
Tackle a free 7 mile bike ride through Cunningham Park on Sundays from 8:30am-10:30am. Suitable for teens and adults who are experienced with the terrain, as it is challenging. You must wear a helmet during the ride, and arrive no later than 8:15 am. Meet at 210th St and 67th Ave. For more info, call 718-225-5119 or email email@example.com.
Learn to Swim Spring 2012
The Learn to Swim program offers free swim lessons for toddlers (1½-5), children (6-17), and adults (18+) of all ages at our indoor pools. Parks offers two 10-week sessions and one 9-week session of swim instruction during the indoor pool season. The classes run from April 28, 2012 through June 23, 2012. You or your child must be registered to participate. Registration for the spring session begins at noon, on Friday, April 13, 2012 and ends at 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2012. Archery at APEC
Archery is a great way to improve focus and develop patience. Archery is also a great way to build upper body strength. Trained Rangers will demonstrate the safe and proper way to draw a bow and shoot an arrow. Families and children ages 8 years and older are welcome to participate in our fishing and archery programs. Participation in a mandatory safety review lead by a trained ranger is required. All equipment is provided.
