The Queens Library has started a new program through it’s Central Branch that allows you to borrow e-readers loaded with books. Just launched, there are 50 e-readers available to check out. If you want to get your hands on one, read on!
If you’ve been hesitant to jump on the e-reader bandwagon, this is a great way for you to try one out, and even better, you’ll have a list of books to get you started! Currently, you can only check them out at the Central Branch, since this is the first program of its kind in Queens Library history. But if the program is successful, and the funding is available, they’ll expand the program to other branches.
Here’s how it works:
The e-readers have books on one of five themes: best sellers, romances, mysteries, teens’ or children’s books. There are also 50 works of classic literature loaded onto each reader. You have to present a Queens Library card and photo ID to check out the devices, for free, for 7 days. You also have the option to renew twice.
Having an e-reader handy is great for every member of your family, from your kids to your spouse to your parents. It’s light and compact, easy to carry, and incredibly convenient. And if you can get one for free for 7 days, why wouldn’t you try it out?
