Family Programs at Flushing Town Hall in August

August is a big month over at Flushing Town Hall. In addition to their cool summer programming for families, they’re also celebrating the hall’s 150 birthday! Check out their line up here!

FREE SUMMER CONCERT SERIES: Tango Argentina

Renowned Tango dancer Mayte Vicens will dazzle the audience by performing the Argentinian tango. Enjoy a live Tango music concert, a dance lesson for beginners, and a Tango demonstration.

Korean Culture Camp: DRAGON STORY

Visit Korea through a variety of fun activities, like creative drama, art, and traditional music. The theme of the 3rd annual Korean Culture Camp is the Year of the Dragon. Students will develop their creativity, study the meaning of the Dragon, and learn about Korea in various ways.

FREE SUMMER CONCERT SERIES: Great Highland Bagpipes and Mor “The Pied Pipers of New York”

The Great Highland Bagpipes have become a staple in the contemporary music scene. MacTalla Mor features the combined use of ancient instruments, Gaelic singing and folk dancing alongside contemporary beats.

2012 Members’ Exhibition: Birthday- Celebrating 150 Years of Flushing Town Hall

All members of Flushing Council on Culture & the Arts who are visual artists are invited to show their work in this yearly traditional celebration. This year’s theme will attempt to illustrate any form of celebration, to honor the hall in its 150th year.
