Halloween For the Dogs in NYC

Pooch Parade

Dress your pup up in his or her best Halloween costume for this parade. Awards will be give for best costume, as well as other categories like longest tail!

When: Saturday, October 20th, 12pm – 3pm

Where: Hylan Boulevard and Cornelia Avenue, Wolfes Pond Park, Staten Island


Halloween Dog Parade

This is the 20th annual installment of the Tompkins Square Park Dog Parade. There will be a ton of prizes given out, in 3 rounds. You should brush up on the specifics and rules of the contest- you can do that here.

When: Saturday, October 20th, 12pm – 3pm

Where: Tompkins Square Park, 9th Street path along Avenue A and Avenue B, NYC


Canine Costume Carnival

This carnival will give out prizes, have fun games, and will also give you the opportunity to adopt a pet. Plus, the first 25 people will get their own treat bag!

When: Saturday, October 27th, 11am – 1pm

Where: Rockaway Freeway Dog park – Rockaway Freeway & Beach Channel Drive at Beach 84th Street


14th Annual Great PUPkin

The good people of Fort Greene Pups are bringing back their annual canine Halloween contest. There will be prizes, of course, so bring your decked out pup and join the fun.

When: Saturday, October 27th, 11am registration, 12pm parade

Where: Fort Greene Park, Dekalb and Myrtle Avenues at Washington Park in downtown Brooklyn



Bring your best costumed pet to this showdown. This contest requires pre-registration, and a $10 fee per dog to benefit the dog run. Call (718) 796-4541 to register.

When: Sunday, October 28th, 12pm

Where: Canine Court in Van Cortlandt Park, (Enter the park on foot at Broadway and 252nd Street)
