Halloween is just around the corner – why not let your little one show off his or her costume in a Halloween Parade this year? There are several family oriented Halloween Parades in the area and all are accessible by mass transit or by car. Check out our round up!
This annual family friendly parade begins at Ditmars and 31st Street in front of CVS Pharmacy. Incredibly popular among local families, it’s a must see for Halloween fun. The 2013 parade will end with a kid friendly after party at Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden.

Kids and their pets can enjoy a fur filled day in costume at the Woofside costume parade and festival. There will be a costume contest, parade, as well as grooming demonstrations and goody bags.

WHERE: Windmuller Park – 52nd Street & 39th Drive
This parade, a local favorite, begins at 176 Java and continues onto Manhattan Avenue and McGuinness Blvd. The party at Java will feature arts and crafts, games, snacks and live music.

Not a classic parade but we thought that it belonged on this list anyway, Celebrate Dia de los Muertos, Halloween and All Saints Day with hands-on festive fun for all ages! Be sure to wear your costume and join us for mask making, All Saints Day Medallions, Mexican Sugar Skulls and ghost stories!

Show off your costumes and join the parade in the Children’s Room at Queens Library at Flushing on Halloween Day! Children of all ages and their caregivers are welcome.

The Jackson Heights Halloween Parade, sponsored by the Jackson Heights Beautification Group, is the largest parade for children in NYC. Hundreds of children march with their parents or schools and are accompanied by local school marching bands and community figures. 3000 goody bags will be distributed to children at the end of the parade.

WHERE: The parade begins on 85th Street and 37th Ave. in Jackson Heights
Ghouls, ghosts and goblins of all ages will walk or ride in floats around Glendale Queens. Participants can enjoy a costume contest and prizes are typically given out in multiple categories.

Halloween Ragamuffin Parade in Maspeth
The annual Maspeth Ragamuffin Parade is sponsored by the Maspeth Lions Club and finishes off at the Maspeth Federal Savings Bank where marchers can get bags of treats, enjoy costume contests, and festivities.

Forest Hills Halloween Parade
The Forest Hills community parade usually takes place on Metropolitian Ave in Forest Hills. At the time of this article, the community board was not able to confirm a 2013 parade. Please check back for more details.
