Storybook Discovery Day

Now that it’s winter time, best bunny friends Teeny and Tino write their wish lists. Will their wishes be granted? Maybe! Saturday Science Lab

Discover our wild and amazing world under the guidance of Central Library’s acclaimed Discovery Team. Children between the ages of six and eleven will execute awesome experiments, learn something new, and enjoy an hour of educational fun at this wonderful weekly lab.  No pre-registration necessary.

Drop-in Moving Image Studio

Ages 7+ accompanied by an adult, 12+ on their own. With the assistance of Museum educators, children will be able to engage in hands-on creative work making flipbooks, stop-action and computer animations and video games and explore the inner-workings of moving-image technology. Free with admission.

Hands-on History Workshops

Young Chefs – Make Your Own Gingerbread House

Come out of the cold and design, build and decorate your own graham cracker Gingerbread House. Each participant will take home a completed masterpiece to show off this holiday season.Limited to 8 participants.

The Nutcracker

See a classic come to life, as Clara, Old Drosselmeyer, and the Nutcracker Prince take a frolicking musical journey that happens only once a year. Just when you think the excitement has ended,  you can visit Santa in our magical toyland. Each child will receive a special gift from Santa. Every young dreamer will enjoy this classic holiday tradition.

Winter Solstice Celebration

Enjoy the holiday spirit while getting some shopping done!  Plan for a delightful day at QBG. Besides the wonderful goodies available in the QBG Store and from select artisans, we’ll have demos, children’s crafts, storytelling, and music, plus a bird & nature walk. Admission is free.
