Upcoming 2012 Holiday Events in Queens

It’s my favorite time of year, and it’s also one of the busiest. Between shopping and decorating, it’s easy to forget to stop and have fun once in a while. These events make it easier to take a break and enjoy the season!

Eat. Shop. Drink. Local

Eat. Shop. Drink. Local brings together the best of local designers and businesses together in one fun filled event. Meet local artists and support local businesses while feasting on food and drinks.

When: Thursday, December 6th, 6:30-9:30pm

Where: The DOG and DUCK, 45-20 Skillman Ave, Sunnyside


Holy Cross Day School PTA 2nd Annual Christmas Party

Admission: $20.00 per child (children under 12 months & parents are free)
Includes food, drinks, entertainment, DJ music & a special visit from SANTA CLAUS!

When: Friday, December 7th, 6-8pm

Where: Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church Hall, 150-05 12th Avenue, Whitestone


Bamboomoves Winter Party

Begin with a yoga class at 5pm, then ease your way into a soothing Kirtan at 6:30. Stay to chat and mingle and enjoy a potluck dinner at 7pm.

Christmas Craft and Vendor Fair

In addition to crafters and representatives of companies like Pampered Chef, Tupperware, Jewels by Park Lane, Tastefully Simple, Scentsy and Avon, there will be vendors selling items such as jewelry, candles, photography, gifts and more! Refreshments will be available for purchase as well!

When: Sunday, December 9th, 11am – 3pm

4th Annual Community Christmas Party

The 4th Annual Community Christmas Party hosted by Skyline City Church and Manducatis Rustica. This free event includes dinner, drinks, live music and fun for the kids. All are welcome! For more information  www.skylinecitychurch.com

Lights and Latkes

A night of candle lighting, singing and food to celebrate Chanukah! Please RSVP with number of adults and number of children – and don’t forget to Bring Your Own Menorah!! Please share with other local families too – all are welcome, but there is a $5 fee for non-members who don’t have children in their schools.

Queens Travelling Market

Last Stop on “The Queens Travelling Market “for this holiday season !!! Stop by for some yummy drinks from Daly’s Pub while you enjoy shopping to some of Queens most creative and fabulous vendors!

Young Chefs: Make Your Own Gingerbread House

Come out of the cold and design, build and decorate your own graham cracker Gingerbread House. Each participant will take home a completed masterpiece to show off this holiday season. Limited to 8 participants. $18Members/$24Non Members Ages 7 – 12

Holiday Trunk Show

Holiday shopping from local designers. Browse unique Holiday gift ideas including jewelry, chic eco-conscious skin care and beauty products and sample vegan cookies while listening to live jazz and enjoying a complimentary glass of wine!

Santa Sunday
Stop by to meet the man in red, Santa Claus! Bring the kids to snap a picture and share in Holiday cheer (and maybe squeeze in a few last minute stocking stuffers too)!

4th Annual Jackson Heights Winter Holiday Sing-A-Long

(It’s okay to park in the Dante’s lot for this event.) Dress warmly and according to the weather! Wear comfortable / appropriate shoes or boots.
Bring a flashlight or well-protected candle for each person in your group.

All children under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult! If possible, children under age 12 should wear reflective clothing instead of carrying open-flame candles…. for obvious safety reasons. (Service animals welcome; all other pets should remain at home.)

When: Saturday, December 22nd, 7-10pm

Where: Meet on the corner of 31st Avenue and 75th Street, in front of Cassidy’s Ale House
