large__8559726853Forest Hills residents rejoice! The West Side Tennis Club on the outskirts of the Forest Hills Gardens is making a very cool comeback with the hosting the wonderful Mumford and Sons on August 28th 2013. In order to score tickets to this concert you must sign up for an invitation online here. According to the New York Times, the court’s officials have also agreed to host 19 concerts here over the next three summers.

Mumford and Sons is participating in what will be a Gentlemen of the Road presentation which is a stopover show and global series of events in small cities and towns around the world. The band did a 2012 stopover tour in 2012 and had this to stay about it on their website:

“The Gentlemen of the Road Stopover is based loosely upon our favourite festivals like Colorado’s Telluride Bluegrass and Scotland’s Loopallu Festivals.
We want to stop off in towns not usually heavily toured by bands, and celebrate the people, food and music that inhabit them. We’re keen to promote the town’s local businesses, and we’ll be using the local bars and venues for aftershow parties, whilst working closely with the local people to get everyone involved in making these shows spectacular.”  How cool is this?!
