The Queens Library is now the proud parent of a brand new library located in Glen Oaks Queens. The brand new 18,000 square foot space has three levels, sky-lit reading lounge, outdoor reading space, a dedicated teen lounge kids floor. Library goers will love this large, bright, new library loaded with books, videos, computer workstations on every level, and 24/7 exterior self-service check in. The Queens Library is an independent, not-for-profit corporation and is not affiliated with any other library in New York City and serves a population of 2.3 million in one of the most ethnically diverse counties in the U.S. (Queens!) It has among the highest circulations of any public library system in the world.
As a Celebration of the Library’s Opening, the Queens Library is hosting a free kids carnival on September 4th 2013 from 1-5pm. Kids can enjoy free story time, Henna painting, and hands on science activities.
