HSBC Children’s Garden Offers Spring, Summer and Fall Programs with Hands-On Activities

Queens Botanical Garden FB SprSum (3) Disclosure: This is a sponsored post from the Queens Botanical Garden.

When summer arrives, the fun and learning heat up!  Children get to harvest and create tasty salads and treats with late spring vegetables while planting seeds for delicious summer crops, learn about the climate and environment, raise and release butterflies, conduct scavenger hunts, build planters and terrariums and lots more.

HSBC Children’s Garden is a hands-on program in Spring, Summer and Fall for children ages 5-12 (children must be 5 by 6/30/2014) that teaches about plants, gardens and nature while kids have fun playing in a beautiful environment. It’s the first “green” children’s program in Queens and offers the opportunity to practice different sustainable gardening techniques like composting, mulching and learning about recycling. Queens Botanical Garden is an urban oasis where people, plants and cultures are celebrated through inspiring gardens, innovative educational programs and environmental stewardship.

Queens Botanical Garden is a 39-acre urban oasis where people, plants and cultures are celebrated through inspiring gardens, innovative educational programs and demonstrations of environmental stewardship.  We offer beautiful themed gardens including a sustainably-managed Visitor & Administration Building.
