March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health. We are the number one resource to help moms have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies. For more than 75 years, the March of Dimes has worked to help babies get a healthy start in life.
During the polio epidemic of the 1950’s, March of Dimes launched the largest public health mobilization in the history of the U.S. and funded research that resulted in a polio vaccine. Today, the work goes on! About 4 million babies were born in the United States last year, and the March of Dimes helped each and every one through research, education, vaccines and breakthroughs. In NY State, 80 cents of every dollar we raise goes to support our mission and this year, research grants totaling $5.6 million were awarded to institutions within the City of New York. March for Babies® is the March of Dimes largest annual fundraising event and takes place in Manhattan on the last Sunday in April. When you walk, you help support community programs, research, education, and advocacy. Go to www.marchforbabies.org/event/
In addition to our charity walk event, the March of Dimes NY Division hosts a full portfolio of industry events, including Transportation and Construction, Sports, Golf, and this year, the first annual Spirit of Beauty Luncheon. For more information on our events visit www.marchofdimes.com/newyork/
