If there were ever a store to support with your dollars, Teddy Mountain of Astoria would be it. Owned and operated by local husband and wife team Morris and Karen Davis, this little wonderland of dolls and stuffed animals will open to the public on Saturday September 27th for residents to enjoy. Located on the corner of 31st street and 21st Ave, Teddy Mountain is a Build-a-Bear style shop with a few add ons. The large open space leaves plenty of room for kids to run around and features a reading nook, party room, and doll boutique which stocks locally made items by Madame Alexander.
The Davis family live nearby in Eastern Astoria with their two sons and have a good sense of what the community needs in a store such as this. They chose their prices carefully to make the store affordable for local parents. Stuff your own animals are priced between $14.99 -$17.99, outfits at $8.99, dolls at $42.99, and matching child/doll outfits for $21.99. For their first month in business, the entire store is 10% off which makes shopping here a great deal for any upcoming birthday or holiday shopping.
Over the next few months, residents can expect to see more from Teddy Mountain as they grow their inventory to include an international line of dolls by Madame Alexander and host weekly puppet shows, mommy and me classes, and birthday parties.
