The Noguchi Museum opened in 1985 as the first and only museum in the country to be founded by an artist during his lifetime and dedicated to his work. The Noguchi Museum offers a variety of education and public programs that seek to introduce the work and vision of Isamu Noguchi to diverse audiences including families.

Families are invited to experience The Noguchi Museum together through a variety of activities which include tours and hands-on workshops. In all family programs participants are encouraged to explore the galleries and to make art in response to their experiences. The Noguchi Museum offers programs for families with children ages 3 months through 11. All programs are taught by Museum Educators, and select programs are also offered in Japanese.

Parent Reviews:

“The Noguchi Museum is NYC’s hidden treasure. A beautiful museum with rich programming and a tremendous staff. I cannot say enough about how much we love the museum. As we approached the door last Sunday for the Open Studio, my 2 year-old daughter exclaimed, “Oh, my favorite place!” That says it all. “- Parent

“The teachers do a great job of engaging the kids, the projects are fun and unusual and creative.” – Parent

“The classes really get our kids to think in different ways.” – Parent

“The most perfect venue for child development that I’ve seen and experienced in any museum.”- Joy Baum, Early Childhood Education Consultant
